Call of Duty *NEW patch 4/22/2021* - Won't launch

worked here!! thanks

The only Anti-virus that i have are BitDefender and Windows defender, i disabled them but the game still doesnt want to launch…

Was Citrix Workspace for me. Uninstalled that, and all good.

This is not a viable solution. stop saying that it works. I confirmed from someone else that said they had Citrix and uninstalled citrix and it was NOT a solution. The game still did not launch. So no.

I just uninstalled Citrix and it worked for me, maybe the person you confirmed with has other applications causing the same issue. Regardless they need to fix this.

I’ve been having the same issue. Come to find out it was Comodo causing it. So I did 3 things.

  1. Added COD warzone EXE to HIPS rules as a allowed application.
  2. Disabled Cloud Lookup in file rating settings.
  3. In Advanced Protection Miscellaneous settings I added COD warzone EXE to the “Don’t Detect shellcode injections in these applications.”

I tried to undo all my changes to make it repeat the problem, but the game still works so I’m not sure what one it was.

Citrix was also the issue for me, allowed the game to launch. It then also gave me an error saying that overwolf was against T&C’s so that needs to be uninstalled too.

can you help explain how to do this?

I tried the first one and it didn’t work, skipped the second one , and tried the 3rd option(added the entire modern warfare folder) with the first one and it worked.

how can citrix be an issue for starting warzone?! please explain bro

Same here, game won’t start. I’ve tried disabling windows defender and reinstalling, added the entire modern warfare folder as allowed, launched game/battle.net agent as administrator, updated nvidia drivers, nothing helps. Devs, please, fix this :з

I’ve got now 5 reinstalls xD

what anti-virus do you have?

how can that be the solution, please eli5

just windows defender

I just had the issue where I could not start my game after the update. I’ve tried everything under the stars and moon.

I just resolved my issue by un-installing Citrix Workspace. That was my culprit. Someone pointed it out in the comments above. Thank you everyone!

I also get this error in EventViewer, Event ID: 1000

Faulting application name: ModernWarfare.exe, version: 1.0.0.0, time stamp: 0x607b3ff1

Dont know what to do about this though… Something to do with the ntdll.dll file?

As a Comodo user, this worked for me. I did #1 and #3, skipped #2, and the game launched thankfully.
