BLZBNTBNA00000005 (Battle.net Agent ist zum Schlafen gegange

Yeah, my “fix” I mentioned above doesn’t persist thru closing completely out of Lutris and starting back up. I also noticed that my Max Background FPS setting doesn’t do anything while running Proton 10. I don’t know if the Max Foreground FPS is working or not because I run on an RX 7600 and don’t always hit the 200 FPS cap that I have set.

Hi, tried it and I can now launch the game itself (lutris proton 10) but when I get to the gate with the lion, it just freezes and gate won’t open

If you’re running with Lutris you can click the little Up-Arrow beside Play button after you click on the Battle.net icon and click Show Logs. That should at least give you something to Google. That’s where I started to get going.

Same error with proton hotfix just running from steam, swapping to the proton beta (10.0-1) resolved it for me.

Another Steam Deck user here. Glad to see this error hit an honestly huge amount of users at once – Surely we can come up with the fix together, or maybe Blizz will fix it themselves

EDIT: I’d like to add to the discussion that the procedure I personally used to get Battle.net up and running on my system is at Reddit post “Instructions for Installing Battle.net Games” by /u/ARMCHA1RGENERAL on /r/SteamDeck. (Sorry, I can’t post a link here. I’m “too new” of a forum user.)

EDIT 2: You can scroll down a few posts where Boubou posted the link

I too can confirm to get it working with proton 10 - switched to steam from lutris - always wanted to do that because having 1 game launcher is enough.

Thanks blizzard for helping me out doing that.

Can confirm that switching to proton 10 worked for me as well.

My current setup:
Lutris (flatpak version)
Kron4ek proton-10.0-1

Yup, same on fedora here. Worked yesterday all night but not today. The proton 10 and steam fix didn’t do work me  I’m still waiting for a solution, everything I have tried has failed

Same, same. Linux player, Proton GE 9.27, same error. Worked fine yesterday, doesn’t work at all now.

This worked for me too!
(I wonder what the technical explanation for this is)

Proton 10 worked for me.

I’m having the same issue with M3 MacBook Wine that makes it impossible to play Diablo 2. I hope this gets fixed soon.

Just a bump, exact same issue here. Cannot lead Bnet in any functional way, and cannot fully uninstall to allow fresh install.

Same issue here, the agent is borked somehow. I’ve timeshifted backward, no luck. Triple checked all the libs etc, nothing. Then I uninstalled to reinstall and can’t get past 45%, user agent error. I’m hoping this is a server-side issue and can be fixed before AV weekend but…

Running Fedora 41, XFCE spin for reference.

Here as well, LMDE6 Cinnamon, tried to reinstall via Lutris, doesn’t get past 45%

Don’t know if anyone has written that already, but you can delete the Agent.9124-Folder in “/…/drive_c/ProgramData/Battle.net/Agent/”. “Agent.9098” works fine and should still be in the folder.

Works as a temp fix, but you may have to repeatedly delete the newer Agent-folder after restarting Battle.net.

I don’t want to call it an “upside” but it looks like it’s hitting some Windows users too, which means it’ll definitely get attention. Proton 10 works (with fullscreen and/or maximizing issues) for now, but it’d be nice if whatever broke the agent for Linux users was fixed too.
