I’m getting the same thing (albeit in English)

us.battle. net/support/en/article/16531

Looking at the agent logs, I’m getting a 404 on http:// us.patch.battle .net:1119/agent which does not seem like it’s supposed to happen
It looks like Agent updated from 9098 which was working to 9124 which is not and this update happened RIGHT before I started having errors

(I had to break those URLs as I can’t post links)

I tried following: https:// us.battle .net/support/en/article/34719

The contents get recreated but it fails, as does trying to install it from the download again.

Same on Steam Deck BattleNet Launcher. I thought it was something about my specific install, so I downloaded and re-installed BattleNet on a new instance. Same thing.

Edit: I also found an old install for 2023, and tried that. Same error as well.

I’m able to get things working using the Proton 10 beta as a runner in Lutris.

Same issue running on Lynix/Steam Deck. As Embler after an hour of trying the restart, restart, I really don’t want to clear my WTF folder or and do a reinstalling. I got it to work after trying first Proton 9 and then 10.

Same issue but I’m on CachyOS using Heroic Games Launcher. I can get around it using Kron4ek’s Wine builds but I’d rather use Proton builds. I’ll see if I can find a Proton 10 build.

Fixed it, download battle.net installer add it to steam as a non steam game. Force proton 10.0 under properties → compatibillity → Proton 10.0-1 (beta). Launch the installer and its done. IF you have already installed battle.net via steam then you can try to force proton 10.0 on that and see if it works.

Blizzard demonstrating it’s usual level of carelessness, incompetence or both.

Thank you for sharing a solution. I set Steam compatibility to Proton 10.0-1 (beta) and launched a game with it - this was to trigger the download of proton. After the game launched on Steam, I restarted my Lutris and changed my Battle.Net runner configuration to use Proton 10.0 and it worked!

Cheers

can confirm proton 10 beta works! easiest solution seems to add the battle net executable as non-steam game, and force compatibility tool proton 10

I just did this as you described. It worked for me but I can now see my taskbar while in Windowed Fullscreen when that did not happen on wine-ge-8-26-x84_64.

Granted I’m very new to daily-driving linux on my home machine even though I use it a lot for work. Been loving CachyOS and this is the first real issue I’ve run into.

I fixed it. When I started back up with Lutris after adding Proton 10 and selecting is as the Runner, for whatever reason, my in-game WoW graphics settings had changed. Windowed (Fullscreen) was still selected but my Render Scale was custom and set at 1920x1050, which was just enough for my taskbar to show. I set this back to 1920x1080 and I’m golden.

I tried it with Proton 10.0-1c and while it does work for the battle.net client, that fix for the screen issue doesn’t help if you play Windowed. It won’t let me change the window size, but it looks almost like it’s fighting with the window manager over the size.

Either way, the fullscreen/window size issue looks to be a Proton 10 issue specifically.
