Can we please get a response on to what’s going on? I’m currently paying a subscription fee on a game that I’m unable to play, that’s a problem.

Aqui mesmo problema ao atualizar warzone.

Howdy Everyone,

Greetings,

This issue is specific to the files on the computer. The BB8 error means that game has become corrupt normally due to a hiccup in the connection while trying to update. The only real fix is the uninstall/reinstall, please give that a go when you have time.

Having the same issue with Warzone, tried to uninstall and reinstall it completely but it won’t even TRY to download before I get the same error. I wonder if it has anything to do with the scheduled maintenance.

30 Apr 22 10:00 Pm CST Update:
Got my Vanguard to work so far. I changed the properties to both Battel_net application and Battel_net launcher to both run as admin and set change for ALL users. Vanguard is up and running now. Working on Modern Warfare Warzone next.

tried to install retail but it kept giving me the error code. Tried uninstalling and it put me in a loop of installing, scanning, installing, scanning and no updates have happened. Files cant be corrupt cause i havent done or played a wow game in a while so the files arent the issue. Internet connection is very sturdy. Only thing thats left to say is that i believe its an internal issue.

This is false. I have reinstalled warzone 4 times and have ran into the same issue. This needs to be addressed ASAP.

Hey there everyone

So the issue is indeed local. The BB8 error is a generic message that simply means the update agent was unable to complete it’s task and it is not sure why.

The common causes are:

Corrupt data with the app or affected client
Drivers/os being outdated
Network/connection issues affecting the agent’s ability to connect to the patch service, download needed data or apply that data to itself or the affected game client
Software conflicts with other programs on the system.

Typically Reinstalling the Desktop Application solves the issue but sometimes that is not enough.

If a simple reinstall did not resolve this then you can try the following:

  1. Make sure Windows and all hardware drivers are up to date. Use the manual check from Windows Update, and restart the system/repeat until it says you have them all. Get driver updates for each piece of hardware from the hardware maker (nvidia, intel, Amd, asus, msi, gigabyte etc…)

  2. Shut down any other programs running, anything that has an overlay, even security programs (just for troubleshooting)

Try doing an extended power cycle on your system. Turn off all devices including the modem. Wait 30 minutes, turn on the modem, wait 5 minutes, turn on any network devices, wait 2 minutes, turn on your computer and try the game.

You can try switching your DNS settings to use a free public DNS servers instead of your ISPs Servers:

We do not have individual steps for specific modems or routers so if you need assistance accessing or updating the devices, contact the device maker/provider.

Sometimes firewall or routing software/hardware will have some advanced settings to prioritize and manage types of network traffic. Normally that is not an issue but we have seen situations where it can intefere with the delivery of the data for our games/voice chat.

Let’s try turning off these features:

QoS
SIP ALG
RoG (ASUS Routers Only)
Security firewalls (Some ISP provided modems)

Not all devices will have these options and the steps for turning these functions off will be different depending on the make/model/software version of the devices and programs involved. If necessary look at the documentation for your security and routing products to find out how to turn these options off.

In some cases there is a corrupt or misconfigured setting within the router or modem. We cannot say what that might be offhand but the easiest way to resolve these conflicts would be to factory reset the router and/or modem.

You may need to look up your specific model for the steps on how to do this and in some rare cases you may need to have this done by the ISP. Feel free to reach out to them for assistance if necessary.

From here we need to manually clear the Battlenet Desktop Application and all supporting data from the system. This will not remove existing game clients.

  1. Open file explorer/file manager (Right Click Windows Start)
  2. Navigate to the folder where the desktop application would normally be installed. Delete that folder if it exists (usually program files x86)
  3. Type the following into the address bar (not the search bar): %APPDATA% and press enter.
  4. Delete the Bnet and blizzard folders inside the appdata folder if they exist.
  5. Repeat steps 3 and 4 with %PROGRAMDATA% %LOCALAPPDATA% and %TEMP%
  6. Empty the recycle bin.
  7. Now reinstall the app to the C: Drive.

and finally if all else fails, create a new administrator account: Creating a New Administrator Account - Blizzard Support

Once the account is created, shut down the computer, wait 60 seconds, restart, log into the new profile and try the app/client.

That should solve most potential issues that can lead to this error.

If it doesn’t however then I recommend putting in a direct support ticket with system files so Blizzard support can assist you directly.

Top of this page, click support, then contact support and fill out the form to submit the ticket.

Yup did all the above and still not working, in fact this made it worse. Now Battle.net wont even reinstall TBC classic. Considering I was just playing about 12 hours ago and just went to bed woke up to an update that wouldn’t install, this issue really seems to be stemming from something else.

Update: my Battle.net launcher is now stuck in a constant loop scanning my TBC folder but never downloading a single file .

Woopeeh

i got the fix, go to your battle.net folder in your C drive and restart battle.net with admin privilegs. fixed it for me! sorry for my bad english im from the netherlands :stuck_out_tongue:

Has anybody else tried this ? If so, did it work ?

No, this did not work for me. Nor has re-installing the battle.net client or any of the other proposed solutions.
