I can’t install Battle.net.
I had it installed, and it worked fine. Suddenly, one day, my World of Warcraft stopped connecting. I could log in, but all servers were “Incompatible” or something like that. I have tried several things (repair, clearing cache, etc.) that I found on forums. Finally, I decided to reinstall it. But after uninstalling, I could not install it again. I have tried several things to fix that as well. Again, in the end, I believed that I had to reinstall the whole Battle.net, so I uninstalled it.
Now I can’t install Battle.net. At first, it just hung at 45% and never moved from there. I have tried installing it a lot of times in the first two weeks, and later, had to leave this topic for over a month. Now, when trying again, the issue is similar, but it later gives me an error:
"We’re having trouble starting Battle.net. Please try again. If the problem persists, try restarting your computer.
More help: BLZBNTBTS0000005D"
Well, unfortunately, “more help” did not help. Neither did reading other forum topics with people having issues at 45%.
What I have already tried, most of which, several times and in combinations.
- restarted my PC
- restarted my internet (router was turned off for over a minute and turned on, also tried disconnecting the RJ45 cable)
- flushed DNS
- deleted all the cache I found
- deleted all registry Battle.net files I found
- tried using the administrator account
- probably more, but I don’t recall it all at this point (most of these I tried over a month ago)
The result never changed (except for this error lately, earlier I believe it just stopped at 45%).
Frankly, I have already lost a lot of my WoW subscription. I tried a lot of different methods, but later, due to other obligations, I just did now have enough mental capacity to fight with the Battle.net installer, and chose other games.
I would like to try and go back to this topic. Please advise.
