Battle.net app won't install

It gets to 90% and gives me the “something wrong with a file” error. BLZBNTAGT00000840

I deleted all files and folders. App data, local app data, program files, program data, temp, everything. Then cleaned out the recycling bin and restarted pc.

Windows firewall is set to allow the setup wizard.

I am at a total loss here. I’ve had Battle.net installed on this pc before and I havent changed any settings since uninstalling it.

Theres a blue post.
I too ran into the battlenet app not being able to install. Did all the temp deletions… etc etc.
Just remember, run the command prompt as administrator.

From the blue post:

The Blizzard Battle.net Desktop Application requires access to Windows Management Instrumentation to work correctly. If this has become corrupted or disabled, you can follow the steps below to reset it:

1. Press Windows+Q and type this into the search bar that pops up:

• cmd

2. Right-click on Command Prompt and select Run as Administrator
3. Enter the following commands into the command prompt window one at a time. Press Enter after each command. Any time you get a confirmation prompt, confirm the prompt. One of the commands may also tell you the WMI service is already started. This is okay.

• net stop winmgmt
• winmgmt /resetrepository
• net start winmgmt

4. Now, exit the command prompt and restart your computer, then retest running the Battle.net application.

Run installer as admin disable antivirus VPN and try again.
