Battle.net app "update to data sharing"

Every time I try to login using the battle.net app, I am prompted with a message about “update to data sharing” with the only option a “continue” button. When I select continue it attempts to open a local host browser page which then says the page cannot be reached and the Battle net up just loops round the loading page without logging me in. I cannot access any games without logging in and cannot find any workaround. Any one had this issue and know a way to resolve?

I’m having the exact same issue, why does this have to happen the moment you decide you want to try a Blizzard product? Of all days! I’ve just spent my money on something I can’t even access because of what seems like a huge design flaw. This needs to be fixed as soon as possible.

I am having the same issue, A fix would be appreciated! Broken service.

Same problem over here.

Same for my friend. Reinstalling does’nt help.

Same here, ever since linking my Xbox account the other day. Not sure if that’s what caused the issue - disconnecting the account didn’t have any effect.

I’m having the same issue. I installed the app on my computer. It asked me to add my game pass account. I could log in fine. It then told me I needed to be online to play (which in itself is stupid). I had to re log in a second time. I get a message about data sharing, and then I get this message: “This address uses a network port which is normally used for purposes other than Web browsing. Firefox has cancelled the request for your protection.” Both on Firefox and Chrome. I tried to flush the IP address (by following the support guide) and turned off my VPN. Rebooted the laptop and re-install the app. Nothing works

I can’t access the app any more, so I can’t play any of the games, and I can’t launch them from the Xbox app either…

I am having the exact same issue. I bought the Game Pass, then i tried installing Diablo IV which then installed the battle.net launcher automatically. When i logged in, i linked the xbox account with this one, but then when i tried to log in, i was prompted with that message, that tries to open a link to localhost on port 0, but this port is blocked by the browser, in fact, any modern browser blocks it because it is supposed to be used by the operating system. I think they should fix it ASAP as there is nothing us as users can do!

A thread about the problem exists here as well. Please bump it or post there to increase the issue’s visibility to the appropriate development team…

Guys, it’s an issue that they are investigating and trying to fix. There is nothing that we can do right now, except to just wait. This is the response that I got for my ticket:

A Game Master resolved your ticket, and left the following response:

Greetings

We’re currently investigating an issue preventing players from logging in after connecting their Xbox accounts to Battle.net. Our team is actively working on a fix.

At this time, there are no known workarounds. We appreciate your patience and recommend trying again later.

Thank you for your understanding.

I’ve found a workaround! I changed the email address associated with my Battle.net account, verified it and it now works seamlessly. I’ve logged in and I’m downloading the game using Game Pass.

so you just changed ur email from your battlenet account?

This fixed it for me. Change email and login with the new one.

Been following this issue for theblast few hours since im in the camp of tried foolishly today to add my gamepass onto my account.

Confirm that going into your axcount and updating the wmail to another one then following the verification email allows you to then log into the desktop app successfully on the new email.

same issue! no fix yet

Same issue… tryed LOGIN in Battle.net app in 2 different computers, and same message… I try another user I have, and logs-in perfectly… so something is “jammed” on our profiles…

Wow, that is correct! I was able to just by changing my email to another one… to recover my account… THANKS!!! I hope they fix that issue

thankyou! this worked for me too

Can confirm this has worked for me, thank you good sir
