What exactly does Any% mean?
‘Any%, or fastest completion, refers to completing the game as quickly as possible, and often involves sequence breaking. 100%, or full completion, requires the player to complete the game to its fullest.’
Basically the time for cutscenes or otherwise uninterruptable game content doesn’t count towards the completion time, or is otherwise skipped by ‘other’ means…
i’ts getting 4crit’s/ in final fantasy/or it’s fading away. one or the other should get it/400min in under taking out 20% lighting in darksouls is kinda any%…
So when I see any% D2 speedruns, it means the goal is to kill Baal ASAP without doing all the quests and 100% would be doing all the quests?
Edit: I just reread your comment and that pretty much what you said!
I’ve been watching them. I believe I can beat the barbarian world record, but I wanna understand the rules first.
Check out speedrun dot com “Rules” section, be sure you’ve read both “Game rules” and “Category rules” sub-sections
Any% is about beating the main story for the game on normal, softcore or hardcore being two different categories, as fast as possible, no side quests required.
Then there’s Any% hell which is all the way to hell Baal. Again there’s softcore and hardcore categories but I mostly see people doing hell speedruns on HC.
For a speedrun to be valid it must be recorded in video.
