my account was hacked recently and I had to send in a ticket to change the email and password back to mine. However, when I tried to sign in again, after verifying the account and changing the password, I was given an error telling me the account was banned. Was can I do about this?

We aren’t able to assist with account issues through the forums. In most cases, these were just left over from the original compromise. I would suggest creating a support ticket to have this investigated.
