2 days login and 7 gig updates

I am logging in for 2 days now and every time i have a huge update file from 7 gig or more

does this sound normal

7 gigs for the desktop app is not normal.

Did you mean one of the Blizzard Games perhaps?

Its not normal . But I can tell you you will get no help here or on wow forums .In last 30 days I am at over 70 gigs in updates . If you look at your internet usage most likely its all going to bnet agent .

Corrupted install path or full directory.

Probably need to reinstall.

https://us.support.blizzard.com/en/help/article/302009

That will not work been there done that . Did every thing on that list more then once but the complete reinstall that only did once . Did not fix it , That is why I posted there is no help here or forums . A MVP just post that link and nothing in that link will fix it . Then after you post that that link did not fix it that is the end of any kind of help .
I am now on day 3 with out needing to update something last Bnet update could of maybe fixed it . But I thought that before then there was a Bnet update and back to down loading between 5 and 7 gigs all most daily .
Good luck JCarrill0

Corrupted Windows update or install at that point.

I often see people say “I reinstalled Windows and that fixed it,” so that tells us the problem is not the application, but the system and file structures themselves.

Reinstalling win 11 did not fix it ether that has been done 3 times this year because of win 11 updates messing its self up 2 where clean installs . And this update thing has never stopped for much more then a week . Its what ever the wow agent is , That is where its down loading too . If I was on like star link I could not afford to play wow because just the Agent would cost over $500 a month .
I spoke to soon up there new 5 gig update . The agent just got 5.65 gigs of a update with non going to any thing else wow.
I should state I do not update all blizz games on my computer only retail and the one that is all most daily MOP . I think retails updates are retail updates but MOP updates 90% of them are not for MOP they go to agent what ever that is .
Now heres the thing thats got me , Its the wow folder is not getting bigger with the MOP down loads . I have no idea where the Bnet app is sending the the down loads its not in the MOP classic folder or the main wow folder .

Are you using something to control permissions on that directory?

Everything points to corrupted storage and file paths.

Uninstall the versions of WoW you’re not updating.

I found a second Bnet folder deleted it . For some reason blizz likes to change setting in the Bnet app from what you have set them . Found that blizz changed install location from hard drive I have games on to other hard drive . Lets hope that fixes it will know in a day or to . Will let you know ,

Hmm, why have to installs of battle.net?

That is weird.

I would check your system, for any old games and any old location you have previously installed any Blizzard products, delete them and just use ONE area, (such as just the default setting).

Latest down loading a 10 gig update
about 14 hours later >>>> Latest down loading a 9.1 gig update .

some players dont understand this …….

I liked the 4 or 5 gig updates way better then the new 10 gig ones sure glad I am not metered . One other thing I am on slowest internet my provider has . I think my old 4g phone is faster .
PLEASE FIX ONE MORE 10 GIG DOWN LOAD .BAD THING IS EVEN WITH DO NOT AUTO DOWN LOAD CLICKED ITS NOW AUTO DOWN LOADING
Not 4 hours later 10 more gigs going who knows where the World of Warcraft folder gets no bigger it stays at about size 210 gigs .

I gave up on playing MOP but once a week . I do a 10 gig down load once a week instead of every day or 2 when it shows it needs a update . This has been going on off and on for over a year now .

Yes I am the desk top app my wow folder is not on C drive but on a ssd storage drive that desk top app is pointed to
Still doing 10 gig updates that make wow folder no bigger

Ahh, that’s make more sense now…

Is it external? Because those are not supported for WoW.

No its in computer never is taken out it is a ssd mounted under a tab in the Mother board . All my games are on it . Still have no idea where the download is going . I got every wow game in the same folder only one that needs updates all most daily is MOP and now there 10+gigs .The wow folder is no bigger after the update . Mists updates when there is a update for it because I can play the game . Its just a pain down loading 10 gigs my internet is not the fastest , In fact am down loading 10 gigs as I type this .

Going to try something going to update every thing in wow folder that is all classics Ptr betas if they want updated and what ever XPTR is .

Edit well still doing it

Tell me how all wow folders are in same main folder ?
