Someone is always dumb enough to buy them.

For the four people who won’t buy it, one whale will.

That is their philosophy. They don’t care about the player - they care about whales only.

Based on the state of the game, they are desperate to show a profit.

OW breaks into Steam’s top 50 sellers at least once a season (usually in the 20-30 range, but Le Sserafim got it to top 10 i think), which is wild for a years old game that only has like ~35k daily players. OW makes money hand over fist.

paying money for skins in a first person game… lol… good one…

I mean… Yeah. That applies here too.

Unfortunately this is the new business model once OW went free-to-play. Without the cosmetic sales paying the power bill, the game gets retired.

Tell that to my nsfw kakashi from naruto figure

It’s not desperate to charge what they KNOW lots of people will pay. Anime fans will absolutely shell out for collectibles from IPs they like. It’s like their whole thing. You know when you’re in an anime fan’s house.

But you’d spend your time on its forums? Time is more valuable than money.

Ngl before I looked at this thread I honestly thought Faye Valentine was some kind of pornstar with that kind of name. But apparently its from an anime. Either way, they’re all ugly skins so if you don’t want to pay $50 then simply don’t.

I have 2k worth of Microsoft rewards. But I won’t be using it for this collab. I like the Ashe one, but Cassidy’s is too poor in quality if you compare it to le ssserafim’s skins.

I’m really disappointed with his skin in particular. The others are actually really nice. Sombra’s is really cute.

the fact that you dont see this being an issue is alarming. now i understand why companies take advantage of yall. you throw your money at anything

Just more nails in the coffin for the gaming industry. Can’t wait in a year when people are justifying the 200 dollar Dva skin based off a popular anime. :+1:

Then don’t buy it. There’s almost certainly high licensing fees which were paid to make this happen, the skins are probably still priced as low as they possibly can to attract the most buyers. If 56$ package is what they need to turn a profit, so be it. If you see value in the package and feel you enjoy it, then go ahead and buy it, as this has always been the case.

But how else are the Corporate staff going to afford their 2nd and 3rd homes? Can you believe that some higher ups in Blizzard only have 1 luxury car? I know right!

There’s one now - a future 200 dollar skin enjoyer.

I’d buy a Sailor Moon one. I won’t even lie.

Yes, the skins are way overpriced. Yes, OW2 servers will most likely get shut down in the future by Blizzard’s abandonment or to make way for OW3. Yes, Blizzard knows our thoughts on MTX and doesn’t care.

Expensive microtransactions are now our present and future. It’s a necessary evil that doesn’t even guarantee content to be released. This is what happened to the Halo MCC a few years ago. 343 industries wanted to release more content and add Halo 5 but Microsoft shut it down because they faced backlash from community before they could monetize it. Funny thing is in the end Halo Infinite also had their future DLC canceled even with the crazy monetization. Goes to show a lot of these big companies and corporations are insanely greedy.

I wonder if anyone ever bought the 1k Rein statue?

They call “event” something that is 90% in the store…

look at me! I am completing the event with my credit card!!!
